"The Green Heritage Walk" - 31st July



A walk in Lal Bagh - to discover Bangalore's Green Heritage, conducted by Vijay Thiruvady .

Date  : July 31st        


Maximum number of participants : 25
Participation fee : Rs.750/- per head.




Start Time: 7am sharp. 
What to wear: Closed shoes and full pants, as the walk passes through grassy areas.
What to bring: A camera. A carry-bag (if you want to collect samples - leaves, flowers etc)

Breakfast: The walk ends with a special private breakfast at the legendary MTR
                Hema Maiya, scion of the Maiya family that founded MTR in the 1920s, will join us

Start point: At the base of the Lalbagh Rock, located just inside the Double Road (KH Road) Gate of Lalbagh Gardens 


Parking: Designated parking available inside Lalbagh close to the start point.



About : Vijay spent his early years in Delhi.  He studied in St. Columba’s School and  St. Stephen’s College in Delhi and School of Architecture in Ahmedabad.  Thiruvady has always been interested in various aspects of nature and more specifically horticulture.  He has a farm in the outskirts of Bangalore, conducts Green Heritage Walks in Lalbagh and  participates in the various activities of Bangalore Environment Trust as a Trustee. These include the writing of a book on  Heritage Tree  and a study of Devarakadus/Gundutopus and large wooded institutional areas in Bangalore.  Thiruvady also conducts Walks for guests at West End Hotel, apart from having participated in the Asian Hotel Series with Vir Sanghvi in Discovery/Travel Channel which covered West End Hotel Bangalore )
